即使是N端封閉的蛋白質,其N端片段可以被分離出來。具有未經封閉 N 端的蛋白質,其N 端片段也可以經由磺酸衍生化後回收,如此可以 MALDI-MS/MS 進行定序 (de novo sequencing) 。即使多個蛋白共存於單一 SDS-PAGE 樣品 (條帶),也可分離出 N 端片段。
